Bob Long Taking His Campaign for Mayor to the Streets with the first phase of the "Long around Town" Tour

June 29, 2001

SAINT PAUL, MN -Mayoral candidate Bob Long announced today that he will take his message of how he will "Keep Saint Paul Moving Forward" to the streets by kicking off a "Long Around Town" Tour. Long will greet thousands of Saint Paul residents as they come home from work at street corners throughout Saint Paul every weekday evening between now and the primary.

"The people of Saint Paul want a Mayor with the energy and passion to promote the city and keep it moving forward," Long explained. Long added "This is a wonderful way to get to know the people of St. Paul and let them know I will be working for their interests, not those of special interests. People have pride in Saint Paul, they want the current prosperity to continue, and they want to see a candidate working hard to keep things moving forward."

During the next week, Long’s street corner tour will take him to:

June 29 Cretin Avenue and Marshall Avenue
July 2 Lexington Avenue and University Avenue
July 3 Selby Avenue and Dale Street
July 4 Snelling Avenue and Minnehaha Avenue
July 5 Smith Avenue and West 7th Street
July 6 Rice Street and University Avenue
