MAYORAL CANDIDATES SET TO DEBATE

Six of St. Paul's leading mayoral contenders in the Sept. 11 primary election will participate in a 90-minute debate at 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at Concordia University, St. Paul. Debate co-sponsors are the Pioneer Press and Minnesota Public Radio. The debate will be broadcast live on KNOW-FM, 91.1, in the Twin Cities, and rebroadcast at 11 a.m. Sept. 5 on MPR's "Midday." Candidates participating are Jay Benanav, Jerry Blakey, Randy Kelly, Bob Kessler, Bob Long and Bobbi Megard.

The debate, open to the public, will take place in Buetow Music Auditorium, inside the Fine Arts/Music Building near Hamline Avenue between Marshall and Concordia avenues.
